Ardbeg Ardcore 750ml is a limited-edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky released by Ardbeg Distillery as its 2022 Ardbeg Day expression. Inspired by the rebellious spirit of punk rock, Ardcore is crafted using heavily roasted black malt, a first for the distillery, creating a whisky with an intensely bold and distinctive character. Matured in American oak casks and bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration, this no-age-statement release combines Ardbeg’s signature peaty house style with the darker, roasted flavours contributed by the black malt. Produced in limited quantities, Ardcore has become a sought-after bottling among collectors and lovers of heavily peated Islay whiskies for its unique profile and striking presentation.

The nose opens with powerful aromas of charcoal, sweet peat smoke, dark chocolate, lemon zest, black pepper, and tar, layered with hints of smoked bacon, graphite, and roasted coffee. On the palate, intense waves of smoky peat are complemented by flavours of aniseed, liquorice, espresso, toasted marshmallow, cinnamon toffee, and briny sea salt, creating a rich, oily mouthfeel with remarkable complexity. The finish is exceptionally long, warming, and smoky, leaving lingering notes of tar, espresso, toasted almonds, aniseed, and gentle oak spice. Ardbeg Ardcore is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water and pairs superbly with smoked brisket, barbecued ribs, mature cheeses, dark chocolate, and rich charcuterie.
