Nitida The Matriarch Cap Classique 2023 750ml is a premium South African Cap Classique crafted in the Durbanville Wine Valley from a classic blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Produced using the traditional bottle-fermented method, this elegant sparkling wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle followed by extended lees maturation to develop exceptional finesse, a fine persistent mousse, and remarkable complexity. Named in honour of the family matriarch, this handcrafted Cap Classique reflects Nitida’s dedication to quality, precision, and expressive cool-climate winemaking. The 2023 vintage delivers vibrant freshness, refined texture, and outstanding balance, making it ideal for both celebrations and fine dining.

The nose opens with inviting aromas of lemon zest, green apple, white peach, and delicate citrus blossom, beautifully complemented by notes of toasted brioche, roasted almonds, and freshly baked biscuit from lees ageing. On the palate, crisp orchard fruit and bright citrus flavours are balanced by lively acidity, a creamy mouthfeel, and a fine, persistent mousse that adds elegance and refinement. The finish is long, clean, and refreshing with lingering mineral and pastry notes. Nitida The Matriarch Cap Classique 2023 pairs beautifully with oysters, sushi, smoked salmon, grilled seafood, creamy cheeses, and celebratory occasions.
