Journey’s End Cape Doctor Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2011 750ml is the flagship Bordeaux-style red blend from Journey’s End Estate in Stellenbosch, named after the famous south-easterly wind known as the “Cape Doctor” that sweeps across False Bay, naturally cooling the vineyards and contributing to the wine’s elegance and freshness. Produced from carefully selected estate-grown Bordeaux varietals, the grapes are hand-harvested from south-facing vineyard blocks situated approximately 200 metres above sea level. Each component is vinified separately before extended maturation in French oak barrels, creating a wine of exceptional depth, structure, and complexity. The outstanding 2011 vintage has matured gracefully, revealing the hallmark finesse, balance, and longevity for which Cape Doctor is renowned.

The nose offers mature aromas of cassis, blackberry, black cherry, cedar, tobacco, and rich fruitcake, beautifully complemented by notes of dark chocolate, cinnamon, graphite, and subtle oak spice. On the palate, concentrated layers of dark berries, plum, and savoury spice are supported by silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and beautifully integrated French oak, creating a wine of remarkable elegance and persistence. The finish is long, refined, and complex with lingering hints of cocoa, cedar, and sweet spice.
